Everything you need to know about our grout restoration services.
We understand that you probably have questions before booking a grout restoration service. Below we have answered the most common queries we receive. If you cannot find the answer you are looking for, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
The time required depends on the size of the area and the condition of the grout. A typical bathroom can usually be completed in two to four hours. Larger areas such as kitchen floors or multiple bathrooms will naturally take longer. When we provide your quote, we will give you an estimated timeframe so you can plan your day accordingly.
No, our professional cleaning process is safe for all standard ceramic, porcelain and natural stone tiles. We use equipment and cleaning solutions specifically designed for grout restoration that will not harm your tiles. Before we begin any work, we assess your tiles to ensure our methods are appropriate for the specific materials in your home.
This depends on the location and usage of the tiled area. High traffic areas and wet zones like bathrooms and showers typically benefit from professional cleaning every two to four years. With proper sealing after cleaning, you can extend the time between professional services. We are happy to advise on a maintenance schedule that suits your specific situation.
Cleaning removes dirt, mould and stains from your existing grout, restoring it to something close to its original colour. Recolouring goes a step further by applying a new colour coating over the grout, which is useful when cleaning alone cannot achieve the desired result or when you want to change the colour entirely. Recolouring also provides an additional layer of protection.
You do not need to be present for the entire duration of the work. Many of our customers let us in, show us the areas to be worked on, and then go about their day. We simply need access to the areas being treated and to water and power. We will contact you when we are finishing up so you can inspect the results.
For cleaning only, you can typically use the area as soon as it is dry, which is usually within a few hours. If sealing has been applied, we recommend waiting at least 24 hours before exposing the grout to water. For recolouring, the curing time is similar. We will provide specific instructions based on the services performed and the products used.
We offer a selection of neutral colours that suit most tiles and design schemes. Our standard range includes white, off white, light grey, dark grey and cream. These colours work well in the majority of bathrooms and kitchens. If you have a specific colour requirement, please discuss it with us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
While not strictly mandatory, we strongly recommend sealing after any grout cleaning or recolouring work. Grout is highly porous and will begin absorbing moisture and dirt again almost immediately after cleaning. Sealing creates a protective barrier that keeps your grout looking fresh for much longer and makes routine cleaning easier. It is a modest investment that significantly extends the life of your restoration work.
Our services focus on cleaning, recolouring and sealing existing grout. If you have small areas of cracked or missing grout, we can often address these as part of a larger restoration project. However, if your grout has significant structural damage throughout, you may need a tiler to regrout the area before we can provide our restoration services. We are happy to assess your situation and advise accordingly.
Yes, absolutely. Following our assessment of your grout, you will receive a detailed written quote that clearly outlines the work to be done and the total cost. There are no hidden fees or surprise charges. The price we quote is the price you pay. If additional work is needed that was not apparent during the initial assessment, we will discuss this with you before proceeding.
We accept bank transfer, credit card and cash payments. Payment is due upon completion of the work, once you have had the opportunity to inspect and approve the results. For larger projects, we may request a deposit prior to commencing work, but this will be clearly outlined in your quote.
Your satisfaction is our priority. We encourage you to inspect the work thoroughly upon completion. If there are any areas you are not happy with, please let us know immediately and we will address them. We stand behind our work and will make things right if you are not completely satisfied with the outcome.
If your question was not answered above, we are happy to help. Get in touch by phone or email and we will provide the information you need. No question is too small, and we believe in giving you all the facts so you can make an informed decision.
